Thrift stores have been a Gen X thing for decades in Europe, specially in bigger cities like London but also in smaller towns :)

There are themed, curated thrift shops and more mainstream second-hand Charity shops in every city, dozens of them just in the 200.000 inhabitants Irish city where I live.
