Same thing as you: language is conceptual per se, plus there are different levels: style, rhythm, punctuation, voice, poetic devices, poetic license…

Then again I “paint-write” with emotions, so the same poem’s idea can vary in my mind from the day I wrote a poem to 5 years after when the emotion is gone: is the concept still valid?

On the other hand, I “see” images that nobody can see… the reader will apply their own lenses and will guess or accept my initial idea or maybe, they will interpret the poem based on their own ideas… Poetry is completely fluid.

Finally, I guess that my intention is to communicate, to translate the imagery to a system of words but overriding conventions so that after you read one of my poems, whenever you hear or read a word I used intentionally, you will always think of the image that I painted for you overlapping their meaning in the dictionary. If any of my poems achieves that, then I’ve done a good job.
