It’s not only that.

I reckon Discworld is somewhat reminiscent of LOTR…

[ I can hear you screaming 🙀 inside your head: blasphemy!!!]

I don’t mean the philosophy embedded into it but the forma, the aesthetics (I recall the first thing I told you when I started reading those books is that the names of the cities sounded similar to the ones in LOTR) so I guess Pratchett took these elements as classic of the genre to build his world even if the story is that of the antiheroes and common people (you know: witches, wizards, dragons, Death’s adopted children…😉) rather than an epic tale and the language doesn’t sound like a ballad. I’d say it’s humorous but not a downright satire of the genre.
