I said that on the basis that someone impersonates something with a purpose (out of fun, necessity, to get some reaction from others…), not because they don’t want to be themselves. The difference is that they allow others to know that it’s a made up facade.

And it can be quite apparent that’s a fictitious character all the time. The funny part is how long does it takes to find out.
